Chicago Tribune:

What’s Finnish for dagger?

Despite enduring a rough shooting night, Lauri Markkanen buried a huge 3-pointer with 48.5 seconds left as the Bulls avoided their first 0-4 start since 2007-08 with a 91-86 victory over the Hawks.

Another killer line by the GOAT of Bulls writers, KC Johnson. Anyway, the Bulls finally won their first game after starting out 0-3. The Bulls are probably the worst team in the NBA. Nobody expects them to compete even a little bit – it’s rebuild time for Chicago.

The Bulls finally traded Jimmy Butler, which resulted in the acquisitions of Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine, and Lauri Markkanen. Lauri Markkanen has bursted out to a great start to his rookie campaign. The Bulls front office actually made a great decision… Shocking.

Markkanen is averaging 15.8 PPG, and 10.0 RPG. Markkanen has also put up great games from behind the arc. Including, splashing 5/8 from 3 point land against the Cavaliers, in Cleveland.

The rebuild is off to a fast start for Chicago, Markkanen will be able to consistently hit shots from the outside, and rebound. Chicago has yet to debut Zach LaVine, who is on the shelf with a torn ACL from last season. LaVine will give the Bulls 20+ PPG a night when he returns.

If the Bulls secure the top pick in the upcoming draft, they can land the services of difference making bigs Michael Porter or Marvin Bagley. If they land one of them, the young core is solidified. Then, (the Bulls should fire GarPax) & they can chase a veteran point guard to lead the charge.

The future is bright.
