The 76ers outlast the comeback by the Wizards winning 118-113.
For the most part of the game, it was a blowout game until the 4th quarter. In the beginning of the game Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid led the way to a monster 15+ lead.
This was Simmons career night ending with 31 pts, 18 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. He shot 50% from the field and 15-29 from free throw. Simmons is the first rookie to post as much points and rebounds since Shaquille O’Neal in 1993 reported by Elias Sports.
Washington made an unexpected run in the 4th quarter and Wizards guards Oubre Jr. and Meeks went on a tear before the Wizards deployed the hack-a-Simmons trick but it didn’t work for the most part.
The Sixers had a tough time without their other star Joel Embiid due to him fouling out.
Philadelphia is 12-8 now in the Eastern Conference and their future is looking as bright as ever.
