After Being Recently Banned By NCAA, Brian Bowen Will Enroll To Play At South Carolina

Former Louisville recruit Brian Bowen, one of the key figures in an FBI probe into college basketball, has been admitted to South Carolina.

“I’m really excited to get an opportunity like this with a terrific coach like Frank Martin and a program like South Carolina,” Bowen told ESPN.

Bowen was suspended from the Louisville men’s basketball program shortly after the news broke of the investigation, and the school declined to seek reinstatement with the NCAA. He recently told Outside the Lines that he had no knowledge of an alleged payment involving Adidas, Louisville and his father to steer him toward the Cardinals

Well, former 5 star recruit Brian Bowen looks to be making a return to college basketball. In case people forgot, he was banned for taking $100,000 cash from Louisville (his parents technically), a scandal that led to Rick Pitino getting fired. Like it or not, this same thing is happening at your favorite program. That’s what happens when you’re ruled over by dictators like the NCAA. Anyway, This was a huge get for South Carolina, they lost two key wings, Thornwell, and PJ Dozier who led them to a Final Four. Now, they get Bowen, who can play the 2, and the 3. South Carolina is having a ROUGH start to the season, currently 12th in the SEC, needing a scorer. They have lost to teams like Illinois State, Temple, and Clemson – while barely beating Coastal Carolina. Brian Bowen probably won’t lead them back to a Final Four, but they will certainly get a few extra buckets.
