Lately the Cavs have just been pitiful losing seven of their last nine since Christmas Day game. They’ve lost the contending Eastern Conference teams like the Celtics and the Raptors badly. But this has been a common theme of the Cavs the past three seasons in the month of January.
How Serious are the Cavs Struggles?
I would say it’s a mixture of both. The Cavs let down about this time of the year all of the time but this season the East actually has some competition. The Cavs are not as good as they were last season, they’ve proven to be worse in defense and they don’t have Kyrie anymore. The Celtics have been playing amazing with their Eastern Conference best 34-10 record. I still think the only team that could beat the Cavs in a seven game series is the Celtics and I don’t see the Cavs losing before the ECF. The Cavs should still be the favorite out of the East because they still have the best player in the league and Isaiah Thomas will become more healthy in the future. Although this time I think the Cavs will have some competition in the second and third round given last year they blew past the East. So are the Cavs Struggles super Serious, no but they’re definitely more serious than the previous years.
