As of right now, the Sixers are in no danger of their playoff seeding slipping, not their first round victory hopes. Embiid has undergone surgery, which was successful. The biggest question moving forward will be, how will he respond to the pain after surgery? The timetable currently is 2-4 weeks without any setback. If he returns in 2 weeks, they have a shot in building some type of momentum to catapult them to gaining home-court advantage over the Pacers. That is needed because the Sixers have had outstanding success this season at home.
Embiid’s injury can bring a bright spot to this team. Fultz can gain more game time experience through Simmons and Saric sliding to different positions on the court because this team has many versatile players. It will be interesting to see if Coach Brown will go to a two-guard lineup sometime with Simmons and Fultz or coming off the bench you will have Fultz and McConnell play extended minutes together while Covington and Johnson play extended forward minutes.
