Why Home Court Advantage is so Big in Basketball

So far these playoffs home court has been a huge factor in the outcome of the game. The home team is 15-6 so far. Last night, surprising wins from the Wizards, Pacers, and Bucks all due from home court advantage with their fans behind them. The Pacers were down 17 at halftime and their fans willed them to come back from that gigantic deficit to win the game 92-90. The Bucks just got blown out game 2 after losing a close game in game 1, but their fans were louder than ever which caused them to destroy the Celtics by 26. And after two embarrassing losses for the Wizards on the road, they blew out the Raptors at home. Home court advantage is the x-factor in the playoffs. Even with this injury-ridden Celtics team I still think they can win the series because they probably won’t lose a home game. The Cavs January basically ruined their season because now they’re in one of the toughest places to play in down 2-1 in the series, IN THE FIRST ROUND. Last season, the Celtics and Wizards series went 7 games with the home team winning every single time. Let’s just be honest here, home court advantage is bigger than what people think it is.
