According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Clippers and Montrezl Harrell have agreed to a two-year, 12 million dollar deal. Both of the years are fully guaranteed. Prior to his signing, Harrell was a restricted free agent. This past season, Harrelll averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist in only 17 minutes of playing time.
The Clippers acquired Montezl Harrell in the Chris Paul trade with the Houston Rockets. He was thought as an afterthought but has proved to be one of the most valuable pieces in the haul the Clippers received. Montrezl Harrell will likely serve as the backup center for the Clippers behind Marcin Gortat. However, he should see an increase in minutes from last season with the departure of DeAndre Jordan.
In other news, the Atlanta Hawks and Center Alex Len have agreed on a two-year, 8.5 million dollar contract according to Shams Charania. This is a great pickup for the Hawks and one that could prove to be a great signing. Len is just 25 years old and spent five seasons with the Suns. Last season, he averaged 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Len will be competing with Dewayne Dedmon and Miles Plumlee for minutes at the center position this season.
