With the addition of Jimmy Butler, 76ers head coach Brett Brown had to make room in the starting lineup, which means somebody was getting moved to the bench. That somebody is Markelle Fultz. The new look 5 will be Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Jimmy Butler, Wilson Chandler, and Joel Embiid. Reported by 76ers writer Rich Hofmann (@rich_hofmann), coach Brown stated that Fultz has done nothing wrong, it just had to do with bringing in Butler.

Fultz hasn’t been overly impressive so far this season averaging 9 points and 4.5 assists a game. While there is no doubt he will still get good minutes off the bench, the 20 year old will be looking to perform to get his way back into the lineup (as long as he isn’t double pumping his free throws), while others might say this is a blessing in disguise. Maybe with this new role he will find his niche and be a key piece for the 2nd unit moving forward. But as it is with anything, we will just have to wait and see.
