JR Smith’s tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers is now over. Joe Vardon the NBA Senior writer for the Cavs officially reported that Smith will no longer travel or play with the Cavaliers as they seek out a trade for the 10-year veteran.
Cleveland has been off to a horrible start of the season with the NBA’s worst record of 2-13. After an interview with Editor-in-Chief Jason Lloyd of The Athletic in Cleveland, OH, Smith accused the Cavs of tanking the season (losing on purpose) and says he wants out. For anyone who does not know Smith is number eight on the list of Playoff 3-point Field Goals made with 288 only four behind Kobe Bryant who is number seven. Despite the mix up during last years finals where JR believed Cleveland had the lead, Smith is not to bad behind the arc when playoff time comes.
The statement was confirmed by the Cavs who said farewell to J.R.by thanking him and his family for his help in the community and bringing home Cleveland’s only NBA Championship in 2016. Smith will begin working out on his own and will not participate in anything Cavalier related unless it is a trade to another team.
